It is our goal to make the transition from the ordinary world (your world) to the Extraordinary World (Fernwood Cove) as easy as it can possibly be. On this page you will find everything that you will need to do in order to get ready for camp this summer. It is a lot of information but please take the time to read it all. This goes for returning staff as well, sometimes things change over the winter months and we want to make sure that you have all of the updated information.
LETTER TO ALL STAFF: FOR ALL STAFF! This will answer most of the questions that you will have about camp like laundry, pre camp orientation, etc. Letter to ALL STAFF!
MEDICAL FORM: FOR ALL STAFF! A completed MEDICAL FORM based on a physical examination within the last 24 months is required. A physical done by your school or university is fine. If you have already had an exam in the last year, your physician need only complete the form. Let us know as soon as you can if you CANNOT meet this job requirement. DRIVER INFORMATION: FOR ALL STAFF OVER AGE 21 BY JUNE 15. If you are over the age of 21 or will be 21 by June 15th of this year, have a valid driver’s license, and would like to drive our camp vehicles please email us your driver’s license number and state or country issued and send us a copy of your driver’s license. If you are NOT a citizen of the United States and you would like to drive you need to do the above and you MUST fill out International Driving form and email it or scan and fax it to camp as soon as possible. EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION: FOR ALL STAFF! This document will indicate what documentation you will need to bring with you to camp to prove that you are eligible to work in the United States. Please look at this form before coming to camp to make sure you have the appropriate documentation with you. BACKGROUND CHECK: FOR ALL STAFF! All staff must have a recent background check completed before arriving to camp. US Staff will have filled out our Background Authorization Form (new staff) or the Voluntary Disclosure Form (returning staff). If you have not done so, please do so as soon as possible. All International Staff will need to get this for their visa – please send me a copy as soon as you can.
SOCIAL SECURITY FORM: FOR ALL NEW INTERNATIONAL STAFF ONLY who DO NOT already have a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER from the United States. The United States law tells us that everyone who works in the United States, even for a short time, must apply for a social security number. Please download the form and the instructions. It is a confusing form and you will need to review the instructions as you fill it out. If you have questions, we will go over it at camp, so this is nothing to worry about. If you would like to wait until camp to fill it out, that is fine also. CERTIFICATIONS: FOR ALL STAFF! Please send us copies of any certifications that you hold. -i.e. Red Cross (LGT, WSI, CPR, First Aid, Small Craft), Archery, Maine Trip Leaders etc.
STAFF TRAVEL: FOR ALL STAFF! Please let me know what travel plans you want to book before you book them – that way I can make sure it works and that you are going to the correct city!
