We request that the staff have completed at least one year of college/university studies and be turning 19 within the current year.
1) Read the information about the staff experience and policies.
2) If you are a former Fernwood Cove Camper, please read this very important letter before applying. If not, please go directly to #3.
3) Fill out the online application OR download the .pdf application and mail, email or fax it back to us.
4) Fill out our online Certifications/Skills and Experience form. This will give us an idea of your skills, certifications that you hold, etc. Please give us details of certifications, expiration dates, etc – the more information and notes you provide the better.
5) Download three reference forms. Please have three reliable people fill the forms out and send them to us by email, fax or mail. Your references can fill out our online reference form (just give them the link) or they can also download our reference form in PDF file and mail it to us.
The references should be from the following categories:
- A previous employer or supervisor, this is someone who can talk about work ethic, job performance, etc.
- Someone whose child or children you have babysat, coached, tutored or taught before. This is someone who can talk about your work with children.
- Someone who can comment on your skill set in a particular area that you are applying for.
- Someone who can do any of the above and also comment on your character.
6) If you are a United States Citizen, you will need to download ourĀ background check form, fill it out, sign it and send it back to us. International Staff will be required to get a background check in order to obtain their visa. Please send this background check to us once you have had it completed.
7) All applicants will be interviewed by a Director.

Fernwood Cove hires for the following positions: (All Fernwood Cove waterfront activity staff must have current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Fernwood Cove offers an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course (this includes both First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer) course prior to camp starting. Taking our class or one at home is a must. We encourage US staff to take a class at home.)
